Part-Time Sales Associate - Multiple positions available
Join the growing team of Betina Roza- a local jewelry and lifestyle brand since 2016. Betina Roza now has two locations in Friday Harbor's Cannery Landing building, as well as at the Artist Village in Roche Harbor. We're looking for friendly faces to help serve both our local island community and summer visitors.
Whether you're helping a tourist find the perfect piece to remember their San Juan Islands adventure, or assisting one of our longtime local customers, you'll be part of making someone's day a little more sparkly! We need enthusiastic team members for 15-20 hours per week, with the possibility of full time available.
This sales position is for either both or one of the two locations and includes the opportunity to learn jewelry making skills, specifically the application for permanent jewelry. Additionally, the sales position in Friday Harbor has the potential to be year round for the right candidate.

- Handle sales and keep track of inventory
- Join in on local events, trunk shows and pop-ups
What we're looking for:
- Someone who loves working with people
- Previous retail or customer service experience
- Basic computer skills, and or knowledge of POS systems like Square
- Ability to be on your feet and stay energetic
- Passion for jewelry, style and locally made products

- Approximate working hours will be between 9-5
DETAILS:
This job is NOT for you if:
-You are not someone who can't commit to a schedule.
-You are looking for someone to teach you how to make jewelry so you can start your own business or start making it for yourself. This position requires that you sign a non-compete and non-disclosure agreement, meaning that you will not be able to make and sell jewelry of the same materials and style, nor teach someone else the techniques you have learned.
-You don’t like following directions or want to create your own designs. I appreciate creative input, but this job is a support role, and I am looking for someone to help support my business and potentially produce my designs to my specifications.
Job Duties:
1- Open and close store/booth according to the set schedule.
2- Greet and welcome customers as they enter the store
3- Provide personalized product recommendations based on customer preferences and needs
4- Process sales transactions using the point-of-sale system
5- Maintain detailed knowledge of inventory, products, and pricing
6- Arrange merchandise displays and ensure store aesthetics meet boutique standards
7- Restock shelves and organize products throughout the day
8- Handle customer inquiries, special orders, and returns/exchanges
9- Assist with receiving and unpacking new merchandise shipments
10- Maintain cleanliness of the sales floor, fitting rooms, and storage areas
11- Participate in physical inventory counts
12- Follow loss/theft prevention protocols and maintain awareness of security issues
Preferred Knowledge and Skills:
1. Strong verbal communication and interpersonal abilities
2. Active listening skills to understand customer needs
3. Basic math proficiency for handling transactions and making change
4. Product knowledge and ability to learn merchandise details quickly
5. Cash register and point-of-sale system operation-ie basic use of iPad/iPhone apps
6. Time management and ability to prioritize tasks
7. Problem-solving abilities for resolving customer concerns
8. Visual merchandising awareness and basic display skills
9. Attention to detail when arranging products and processing sales
10. Physical stamina for standing during shifts and occasional lifting
11. Technology skills for inventory systems and digital communications
12. Basic fashion interest relevant to the Betina Roza jewelry and merchandise
13. Adaptability to changing trends and seasonal merchandise
14. Organizational abilities to maintain a tidy, shoppable environment
15. Professional appearance and personal presentation appropriate for the boutique
16. Reliability and punctuality
27. Basic social media literacy if assisting with online content
